Mayfield Park is a free botanical garden with peacocks and fish!

Have the perfect summer day by walking through the lush gardens surrounded by lily and koi fish-filled ponds. This gorgeous park is located right down the street from Mount Bonnell and has a historic cottage, towering palm trees, and a nature preserve on a bluff overlooking Lake Austin. Look for the beautiful peacocks in the trees, on the rooftops, lying in the gardens, and just wandering the grounds.

FUN FACT:

Over 30 garden plots scattered throughout the park have been planted and are maintained by volunteers! Most of the gardens are located near the lily ponds and are adopted by individuals, families, and community groups.
